Kenneth Heavrin

Kenneth Patrick Heavrin, Sr., age 93 of Guston, KY passed away on December 23, 2023 in Hardinsburg, KY.

He was born on March 15, 1930 in Brandenburg, KY, son of the late Eithel Peabody Heavrin and Ernest Euble Heavrin.  Along with his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Jean Bewley Heavrin and his daughter, Rachel Heavrin.

Kenneth was a faithful member of Holy Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Irvington, KY, the Moose Lodge in Brandenburg, KY, and he was a Kentucky Colonel. He was also a founding member and Chairman of the Board for Meade County Bank, on the Board of Directors of Planters Insurance Company in Irvington, and a partner in Espy-Heavrin Real-Estate of Brandenburg. Kenneth enjoyed “Making a Deal” so much and taught his children the family trade.  He helped his daughter start Rubye Realty and his son Brian, is a Realtor in Florida.  He was always helping someone out and had a generous heart.

He is survived by his children, Kenneth Heavrin, Jr. of Louisville, KY and Brian Heavrin (Bruce) of Bradenton, FL; sister, Janis (Gene) Simmons of Lexington; granddaughter, Whitney (Matt) Fontaine; 3 great-grandchildren, Sloane, Margot, and Rhodes Fontaine as well as longtime friend Bernice West. 

A Memorial Service for Kenneth will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 3:30 P.M. EDT from the Chapel of Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home.  Visitation with the family will be from 12:00 P.M EDT until the time of the service.
