Kathy Abell, age 70 of Brandenburg, KY passed away on Monday, December 22, 2025 in Elizabethtown, KY.
She was born on December 9, 1955 daughter of the late Lester Wayne Romines and Geraldine Kellems Romines. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, David William Luttrell, Sr.; sisters, Phynelaphy Shaw and Sharon Roberts; and brother, Gerald Romines.
Kathy was a member of the local 576 Laborers Union and was very proud of her time and work with them. Â She was a faith filled woman who loved the Lord; being a wife, and a mother. Â She was a homemaker at heart and loved mothering everyone she could: kids, step-kids, neighbors, anyone who needed love. Â Kathy was a youth league baseball coach and she enjoyed the sport almost as much as she enjoyed the kids. Â If you lived in Meade County, chances are you have met her somewhere; and if you met her, chances are she would have taken the time to talk to you and get to know you. Â She never met a stranger and loved making connections with people.
She is survived by her loving husband of 11 years, William H. Abell, Sr.; children, David William (Thi Phan) Luttrell, Jr., Chariti Meshell Luttrell, Deron Wayne Luttrell, Stephanie (Jon Loftus) Abell, William H. Abell, Jr.; sister, Susan (Tony) Gray; 9 grandchildren; and a community of friends who love her.Â
