Mr. John Vessels, age 54, of Ekron, KY, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at his residence.  John was born on October 2, 1970, in Savannah, GA.

John had many interests but loved playing Airsoft with his son.  His greatest joy, however, was his children and grandchildren.  He loved watching and coaching his kids in their youth, and that passion transitioned right to his grandkids.  He just adored being “Pappy”.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy Vessels and Sandra Lee Niedert; his step father, Edward Louis Niedert; his aunt, Anna Jane Myers; and two uncles, Robert Morris and William Wesley Goodlett.  He is survived by his loving wife, Michelle Vessels; 9 children, Caley (Jory) and Ethan Vessels, Jimmy, Danny (Ashley), Nikki (Heidi), Kristina (Ashley), Austin, Cody, and Kassidy Raisor; 12 grandchildren, Grayson, Ember, Everlee, Hayden, Cambron, Madilyn, Jayden, Adriana, Eliza, Paisley, Shelby, and Jake; his great granddaughter, Raelyn; four sisters, Crystal Edwards, Debbie and Missy Thompson, and Sandy West; and his step brother, Edward Louis Niedert, II.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM on Monday, August 11, 2025, at the chapel of the Hager Funeral Home, with John’s cousin, Angela Powers officiating.  Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of service on Monday.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society for Colon Cancer Research.
