Gladys Taylor

Gladys Bennett Taylor, age 90, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away at All About Home Assisted Living on Friday, March 29, 2024 with her family by her side.

She was born to Roy Granville and Margaret Grace Greer Bennett on October 22, 1933 in Battletown, KY. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Taylor; sister, Ila May Riggs; brothers, Otis L. Bennett, Raymond L. Bennett, and Charles L. Bennett.

Gladys was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She retired after 37 years at Olin Corp and 20 years as a hostess at Doe Run Inn. After retiring, her health began to fail but she still loved antiquing, quilting, poetry, gardening, and cooking. She had a wonderful sense of humor and always said it “won’t hurt to be late a few minutes.” Gladys truly loved spending time with her grandsons and family.

She is survived by her daughter, Samantha Warren (Morris) Watts; grandsons, Joshua (Sarah Oakley) Watts of St. Charles, MO, and Tyson “Tye” Watts of Brandenburg; sisters, Ina Dell Crawford of Battletown, KY, and Lora Carson of Brandenburg; sister-in-law, Joann Bennett of Corydon, IN; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 from 4:00- 8:00 P.M. EDT and on Thursday after 10:00 A.M. EDT.

Funeral Services will be held from the chapel of the funeral home on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. EDT with Bishop Kyle Cherrington officiating. Burial will follow in Cap Anderson Cemetery.
