George Anthony Spalding

Mr. George Anthony Spalding, age 71, of Elizabethtown, KY, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at his residence.  George was born November 23, 1954, the son of Carl and Ailene (Akers) Spalding.


George was a veteran of the United States Army.  He was a homebody by nature and enjoyed watching horror and western movies.  However, George also had a very social and humorous personality.  He loved making people laugh and even participated, and won, King Valentine. He met the love of his life, Sharon, on Valentine’s Day and that blossomed into a love that grew stronger with each day. His family was his passion and he was always there for them and provided for all of their needs, even caring for children that were not his own.  He was the best father and grandfather, bar none.  George also was an animal lover who enjoyed walking his dogs in the park.


George was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Sharon Jaggers Spalding; his brother, Tommy Spalding; and two sisters, Shirley Richmer and Marilyn Currier.  He is survived by four children Angie Spalding Mabini, Sherry Patton, and Tony and Troy Trulock; 15 grandchildren, Nicholas Anthony (Courtney), Shanilah, Daren (Sam), and Meldin Mabini, JoAndre Bogle, Verena (Brandon) Tracy, Coty (Katie) Patton, Katrina (Caleb) Irwin, Ashley (Cody) Lloyd, Christopher, Justin, Katie, and Johnathan Trulock, Amy Jenkins, and Amber Reynolds; his great grandchildren, Kai Anthony, Maverick Sawyer, Oliver Woodson, Maddox Donovan, and Kahlani Aliyah Mabini, Braylen Hiner, Joseph Edward Fowler, Hunter, Emma and General Patton, Loxlee Tracy, Rosalee, Benton, Braxton, Priscilla, Chloe and Gavin Lloyd and Kinsley and Chandler Irwin; two brothers, Bobby and Charles Pat Spalding; his sister, Betty Atcher; and numerous other great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.


Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, December 12, at the chapel of the Hager Funeral Home, with Chaplain Tommy Valentine officiating.  Visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon until the time of service on Friday.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the funeral home to aid the family with expenses.
