Mr. Franklin Andrew Lewis Duncan, age 67, of Louisville, KY, passed away on Wednesday,
August 28, 2024, at U of L Jewish Hospital. Frank was born September 6, 1956, the son of Henry Andrew, Sr., and Henrietta Jones Duncan.
Frank was a 1974 graduate of Meade County High School. He was very athletic and while in high school, participated in football, where he was a member of the 1973 Regional Championship team, basketball and track. Frank was an avid sports fan, especially for his Louisville Cardinals and Pittsburgh Steelers. He also liked to fish and work on old cars. Frank was also a member of the Perfect Fit Band, where he played his tambourine, “Suzy Q.” Most importantly, he loved his family. Frank was the best uncle to each and every one of his nieces and nephews.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, William Henry Perks; and his sister, Pauletta Smith. He is survived by two aunts, Mattie Jones and Martha Starks; five sisters, Rosetta Sutton, Leona (Jerry) Mills, Mae Wanda (Fred) Ditto, Marilyn (Roy Banks) Duncan, and Martel Duncan-Payne; two brothers, Harry and Henry Duncan, Jr.; and his loving girlfriend of twenty years, Brenda Epperson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, September 6, 2024, at the chapel of the Hager Funeral Home, with Frank’s niece, Angela Ditto Coleman, officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow at 1:30 PM at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, KY. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, and from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Friday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the National Pancreatic Foundation; or to Hearts Like Hayley Jade Non-Profit Organization.
