Elizabeth Ann Toney

Elizabeth Ann Newton Toney, age 88, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Brandenburg Nursing and Rehab.

She was born on October 4, 1937, in Louisville, KY, daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin Allen and Minnie Frances Allen. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Lee Newton, Sr.; second husband, Kirjath D. “K.D.” Toney; brother, Ronnie Allen, Sr.; and son, Frank Newton, Jr.

Elizabeth retired from the Meade County School Board after dedicating 30 years working in the cafeteria. She was a faithful member of the Patteson Memorial Presbyterian Church in Guston, KY. Her love for the Lord showed in the way that she cared for her family and friends and the compassion she showed every day. Elizabeth was also a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF) and was a lifelong member of the Eastern Star. She was very involved in her community and brought kindness everywhere she went. Above all else, she cherished her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, and will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her children, Patricia “Pat” (Mike) Gardner and April Newton; sisters, Almeda Newton and Barbara (Ted) Brown; daughter-in-law, Sharon Newton; grandchildren, Jason and Ashley; and great-grandchildren, Hannah, Nathan, and Chasity.

Visitation will be held at the Alexander Funeral Home on Friday, February 27, 2026, from 5:00-8:00 P.M. EDT and will continue Saturday from 9:00 A.M. EDT until the time of the service.

Funeral services will be held from the chapel of the funeral home on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
