Edward Eugene “Eddie Wild Dog” Young, age 72 of Irvington, KY passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023, in Elizabethtown, KY.
Eddie was born on March 20, 1951, in Irvington, KY son of the late Henry “Ike” Young and Anna Lucille Woods Adkins. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Donminic Lamar Young; grandparents who raised him, Langston “Bud” Woods and Anna Lucille Blinco-Woods; brother, Howard Dean; brother-in-law, Ron Releford; and son-in-law, Paul Jr.
He retired after 35 years working at Gates Rubber company. He also worked for over 10 years at Evans Construction. Eddie was an avid U of L and Pittsburg Steelers Fan, loved his kids and grandkids. He was an amazing father-in-law, and loved his home which he lovingly called his “own little corner of the world”. He was a great father, and an even better grandfather.
Eddie is survived by his bonus father, Arthur Adkins, Sr., 12 children, Kimberly Alexander of Louisville, Pamela Young of Irvington, Nicholas (Starr) Rowe of Radcliff, KY, Rhonda (Yurie) Crockett of Sierra Vista, AZ, Lawanna (Romelle) Seals of Radcliff, Joyce (Jarvis) Wynn of Columbia, SC, Andre (Charlene) Cleaver of Irvington, Dianna Young of Irvington, Edna (L.J.) Collier of Nashville, TN, Monisha Singleton of Louisville, John Boy (Amy) Young of Flaherty, KY, and Darius Miller of Elizabethtown, KY; sisters, Joyce Thomas, Denise(Thomas) Lewis, Pamela (Kenneth) Williams, Kimberly (Merrill) Irving, and Kessell Adkins; brothers, Arthur (Betsy) Adkins, Jr., Michael (Valerie) Adkins, and Anthony Adkins; 46 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; special friend, Gretel; special nephew, David Releford; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at Alexander Funeral Home from 12-2:00 P.M. EST.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. EST on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at Alexander Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Young officiating.
