Dorothy Dowell Ray, 67, of Flaherty, KY, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at the Piedmont Columbus Regional-Midtown Hospital, Columbus, GA. 

Mrs. Ray was known for her unwavering devotion to her family and grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Elroy Ray; her parents, Richard Burn Jr & Anna Frances Snelling Dowell; one brother, Ritchie; two sisters, Betty and Janie.

Mrs. Ray is survived by two children, Jerrico Ray (Theresa) of Rhodelia, KY, Melissa Shoffner (Sean) of Alabama; three grandchildren, Asia (Zach), Kane, Harley; four great grandchildren, Eleanor, Bennett, Charlotte, Ruthie; one sister, Mary Ledford; and a host of extended family & friends.

Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 2:30 PM, Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at Chism Family Funeral Home.

A Prayer Service will be held at 2:30 PM, Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church Cemetery, Flaherty, KY.
