Dorothy Elizabeth Bishop

Dorothy Elizabeth Bishop, age 76, of Hardinsburg, KY passed away at Hardinsburg Nursing and Rehab on Friday, May 17, 2024. 

She was born on May 5, 1948, in Louisville, KY to the late Willie “Jessie” and Francis Moore Medley. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Archie “Ricky” Ricketts Bishop; daughter, Wanda Keith; grandchildren, Michael and Megan Keith, and sister, Doris Scott. 

Dorothy was a natural caregiver. She cared for many families in their homes as well as her home for 20 years. She was family oriented and loved to be with them when she could. She loved her dogs. Dorothy was an outdoors woman and has enjoyed fishing her whole life. 

She is survived by her children, Richard (Bonnie) Bishop of Irvington, KY, Rita Johnson of Irvington, KY, Archie (Sherry Sweeney) Bishop of Garfield, KY and Charlie (Angie) Bishop of Garfield, KY; sisters, Lawanna Medley, Pam Cook, BillieJo Woodall, Lavonne Rich, Sheena Vetter, and Patricia England; brother, Jessie Medley; ten grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. 

A visitation will be held at Alexander Funeral Home in Irvington on Wednesday 22, 2024, from 11:00 A.M. -3:00 P.M. EDT.

Funeral services will be held at Alexander Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at 3:00 P.M. EDT with Brother Carlie Ross officiating. A burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
