David Hugo Schutt passed away on Friday November 28, 2025, at his home in Brandenburg, KY, surrounded by his family.
He was born on August 18, 1955, in Brainerd, Minnesota. David is preceded in death by his father William James Schutt.
David lived a life shaped by dedication and quiet strength. A faithful member of St. Christopher Catholic Church, he carried his beliefs with him in the steady way he approached each day. He spent many years on the road as a truck driver, later working at Wolf Creek Quarry, where he was known for his reliability, work ethic, and easy conversation. Those who knew him will remember a man who showed his care through action. He was someone who could be counted on and who found meaning in simple, genuine moments. His presence was a comfort to many. His absence will be deeply felt.
David is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Pat Schutt; his mother, Deloris D. Schutt; his children, Aaron Hugo (Carrie) Schutt and Heather Ann (Don) Fairthorne; his sisters, Pam (William) Forest and Susie Wright; his brothers, Bill (Rita) Schutt and Jack (Ursula) Schutt; four grandchildren, Sierra Ann Williams, Sybil Wease, Gabriel Schutt and Gregory Schutt, as well as five great-grandchildren, Amos & Auggie Hall, Hailee Kelly, Paislee and Bradley David Wease, who loved him dearly.
The family has chosen cremation and entrusted arrangements to Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held on December 13, 2025 from 9:00-11:00 A.M. at St. Christopher Catholic Church (1225 S. Wilson Rd. Radcliff, KY) with mass following at 11:00 A.M. Lunch will be served after. Burial at a later date in St. Patrick Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to St. Christopher Catholic Church.
