David Carroll Allgood

Mr. David Carroll Allgood, 72, husband for over 46 years to Terry Ritchie Allgood, died Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown, KY, surrounded by his family. Born, August 6, 1953, to Curtiss and Katherine Hunt Allgood, he was a 1972 graduate of Meade County High School. He was a lifelong farmer and owner of Allgood’s Lawn Service for over 30 years. He enjoyed working with his livestock and attending the Meade County Fair 4-H goat show where his grandchildren have participated for many years. He had a gift of never meeting a stranger. To know him is to love him.

David was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Jane Ann Leggett and his son-in-law, Martin Sherrard. He is survived by his wife; children, David Carroll Allgood II ‘D.C.’ (Marcia), Deidra Allgood Sherrard (Chris Wilkins), both of Ekron, KY, Dana Allgood Hockman (Brad), of Brandenburg, KY, Curtis Cochran (Trelawny), Brad Cochran (Sherri), both of Elizabethtown, KY, and Heath Lehman, of Clarksville, TN; nineteen grandchildren, Dylan, Brayden and Adyson Allgood, Jacob and Jonathon Sherrard, Halle Mullins (Kyle), Hannah Matti (Tyler) and Seth Hockman, Brandon (Emily), Autumn (Jadon Stockdale), Landon, Ashton, Maebrie and LaKayla Cochran, Nicole Alonzo (Jay), Kirsten Robbins (Grant) and Harper Lehman, Thomas and Gabe Summer; and one great grandchild, Adeline Mullins.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at the chapel of Hager Funeral Home with Rev. David Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Buck Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday and from 9:00 AM until the time of service on Thursday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Buck Grove Cemetery.
