The Country Music world has lost a legend, as statements were posted to social media Tuesday morning that singer Toby Keith had died at the age of 62.
Keith got his big break in 1993 when his debut single "Should've Been a Cowboy" went to number one on the country charts and also reached number 93 on the Billboard Hot 100. Keith would go on to have twenty number one singles throughout his career, the most recent being his song Made in America which was released in June of 2011.
Keith announced in June of 2022 that he had been diagnosed with stomach cancer and was undergoing chemotherapy and radiation. According to the posts on his official social media pages, Keith died peacefully in his sleep on February 5th at the age of 62.
