Mr. Cary Edward Mangin, age 63, of West Point, KY, passed away suddenly on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Baptist Health Hardin, from an abdominal aortic aneurysm.
Cary was born on October 15, 1962, in Louisville, KY, the son of the late William “Bill” Mangin and Barbara (Harrington) Pecora. Along with his parents, Cary was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Arnold and Dortha Mangin, of Big Bend, KY, and Harry E. and Ethel (Benham) Harrington, of Brandenburg, KY; his sister, Lisa (Mangin) McCubbin; and his brother, Lindsay Mangin, both of Brandenburg, KY.
Cary was a graduate of Meade County High School. He was a ramblin’ man, who lived and worked in Kentucky, as well as, Texas and Louisiana. He eventually settled in West Point, KY, with a view of the Ohio River. He made his own way, in his own way.
Cary is survived by two maternal aunts, Alice (Fairleigh) Yates and Angela Harrington, both of Brandenburg, KY; and numerous cousins, including his special cousin, Millicent (Ray) Thomas, of Brandenburg, KY.
A Celebration of Cary’s Life will be held at 2:15 PM, on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at the chapel of Hager Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Dan Paddack officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:30 PM until the time of service on Thursday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the funeral home to aid the family with funeral expenses.
