Ann Louise (Attaway) Wootten passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026, at the age of 92.

She was born on January 22, 1934, at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, to Mary Gertrude (Power) Odegaard and Richard Carey Attaway. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Norman Wootten Jr; and two children, Linda Lou LaMonica and Brenda Sue Hover.

On December 8, 1950, Ann married the love of her life, Doyle Norman Wootten Jr. Together they embarked on a rich life as a military family. As a devoted military wife, she raised seven children during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Frequent moves meant new homes, new schools, and new adventures, but Ann embraced it all with grace and optimism. The family treasured the many places they lived and the friends they made along the way—especially their cherished time in Italy.

Ann possessed a vibrant, colorful personality that only grew brighter with age. Known as the beloved “diva queen” of her senior living community, she was rarely seen without brightly painted nails, stylish headbands, and glamorous sunglasses. Her sweet smile and infectious laughter could light up any room and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She leaves behind a beautiful legacy in her large and loving family: her children, Doyle Norman (Karen) Wootten III, Richard (Stacy) Wootten, Patricia Cotton, Mary Lauria, and Judy (Art) Wiechert; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at the Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home on Monday, May 11, 2026, from 12:00-2:00 P.M. EDT.

Funeral services will be held from the chapel of the funeral home at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Emory Riley officiating. Burial will follow in Cap Anderson cemetery next to her husband.
