Russell Wayne Prather

Mr. Russell Wayne Prather, age 76, of Ekron, KY, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Signature Health of North Hardin in Radcliff, KY. Wayne was born on August 25, 1947, the son of Leonard Russell and Frances Evelyn (Medley) Prather. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force and was a member of the American Legion. Wayne retired as a Food and Drug Inspector for the US Department of Agriculture.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife, Vicky Carole (Stripling) Prather; his son, Joshua Will Prather; two sisters, Doris June Milton and Joyce Stivers and her husband, Allen; his brother, Tony Prather and his wife, Karen; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at the chapel of Hager Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Shacklett officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, KY at 2:30 PM. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Tuesday.
