Parents Encouraged to Come Meet Teachers, View Classrooms Ahead of 2025-26 School Year

The Meade County Fair is over, we're finally seeing a break in the brutally hot temperatures as we head into the weekend, and the sound of school bells is ringing in the ears of staff and students in Meade County, who will be returning to the classroom next Wednesday, August 6th.

Meade County schools are welcoming parents and students back with their usual open house events. A few have already taken place, but if you have students at Barry Hahn Primary, David T. Wilson, Ekron, Stuart Pepper Middle School, or Meade County High School, you still have a chance to visit the classrooms early and meet with your child's teachers. All of those schools will be having their open house events this evening, Thursday July 31st, with the exception of Meade County High School, which will have their open house event on Monday, August 4th.

Parents of high school and middle school students should take note that the open house events will be split up alphabetically by the child's last name. You can view all the times and information regarding open house events below.

For parents and guardians who still need help with backpacks and school supplies, the Brandenburg Church of God on Howard drive will be having a giveaway from 4:00 to 8:00 on Friday, August 1st and the Midway Party Barn will be giving away backpacks and supplies on Friday, August 1st from 5pm to 7pm.

Dr. Mark Martin will be appearing on WMMG's Edgewise program this Friday at 11am Eastern to talk about the upcoming school year.

Stuart Pepper Middle School - Thursday July 31st 6:00pm to 8:00pm Students with last names A-K from 6:00 to 7:00 and students with last names L-Z from 7:00 to 8:00 Meade County High School - Monday August 4th 5:00pm to 7:00pm

Students with last names A-K from 5:00 to 6:00 and students with last names L-Z from 6:00 to 7:00.
