On Monday, August 11, the Farm Bureau Community Building at the Meade Fairgrounds had its doors open from 11 am until 1 pm as part of a re-opening ribbon cutting ceremony and customer appreciation event.

Built in the early 90s, the Community Building has served as a multipurpose venue that has hosted countless events ranging from everything from wedding receptions and MCHS' Proms to cattle auctions and political debates. But after over 30 years of serving the community, the building got a much needed facelift that was completed earlier this summer. Gone is the "barn vibe" and in is a modern, sophisticated look that will provide a great atmosphere regardless of the event that looks to use the facility.

In addition to the reopening ribbon cutting, Farm Bureau customers were invited to enjoy a free meal, including hamburgers and hotdogs, and a chance a door prizes and other giveaways.
