eanne F. Yates, age 83, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Norton Hospital in Louisville, KY. 

Jeanne was born February 5, 1941, to the late Robert Lee French Sr. and Dolores French. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 29 years Edwin Lee Yates; her sister-in-law, Pam Saunders French and niece, Kate French Erhard. 

She was a graduate of Loretto High School and Spalding University. She began her career teaching at St. Basil and St. Paul Catholic Schools. After moving to Brandenburg, Jeanne continued her education career as long time secretary at St. John the Apostle Catholic School until it closed in 2005. She then went on to work at the Meade County Public Library. 

Jeanne is survived by her three daughters, Andrea Lynn Lovo, Julie (T) Parker, and Shannon Leigh Tucker, all of Brandenburg; a sister, Chele (Rick) Nalley of Corydon, IN; brother, Bob (Roni York) French; her grand-children, Alexis, Clay, Taylor, Hayden, and Tatum; and her five great-grand-children, Riley, Oaklee, Ripp, Laken, and Beckham. 

A celebration of life reception will be held at the Farm Bureau Building in Brandenburg, KY on Sunday, October 27, 2024 from 2:00-6:00 PM. 

Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home in Brandenburg has been entrusted with arrangements. Burial will be in St. George Cemetery, next to her husband.
