James R. Ferree, 94, of Laconia, Indiana, died Monday, September 28, 2026, at BeeHive Homes in Georgetown, Indiana.  He was born February 29, 1932, near Laconia, to the late Manford and Mae Gunterman Ferree.  He was retired from Louisville Gas and Electric and was a member of the Redmens Lodge in Laconia, the Old Capital Coon Hunters Club in Corydon, and Quail Unlimited.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of nearly 75 years, Lena Mae Kingsley Ferree; his brothers, Bill, Bob and Clyde Ferree; and his half-brother, Tom Ferree.

 

Survivors include his sons, Kenny Ferree (Jamie), Donnie Ferree (Norma), and Ronnie Ferree (Lacy); his daughter, Connie Hennings (Wayne); his half-brothers, Larry and John Ferree; 7 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Burial will be in Rehoboth Cemetery near Laconia.

 

Visitation will be from 12:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

 

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the Rehoboth Cemetery Foundation.
