Ellis Neil Stewart, Sr.

Mr. Ellis Neil Stewart, Sr., age 92, of Louisville, KY, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at UofL Health Mary and Elizabeth Hospital in Louisville, KY.  Mr. Stewart was born February 14, 1931, the son of Raymond and Flora (Brown) Stewart.

     Neil proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.  While serving, he was awarded both the Silver Star and Purple Heart.  He had many interests, but he really enjoyed flying model airplanes and trap shooting.

     Neil is survived by two sons, Tim (Holly) Stewart, and Neil (Judy Elvers) Stewart, Jr.; his nephew, Robbie Stewart; and several other nieces and nephews.

     Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, December 22, 2023, at the chapel of the Hager Funeral Home, with Pastor Lou Imbrogno officiating.  Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Stephensport, KY.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, and from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Friday.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Operation CatSnip of Kentucky, Inc., 18 Village Plaza #156, Shelbyville, KY  40065.
