Jeffrey Lynn Dowell

Jeffrey Lynn Dowell, age 68, of Irvington, KY, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at home surrounded by his loving family. 

He was born on November 7, 1957, in Hardinsburg, KY, son of the late Clifford and LaVaughn Wortham Dowell of Webster, KY. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Perry Dowell; grandson, Jacob Wagner; and daughter-in-law, Erika Dowell. 

Jeffrey was a member of the Boilermakers Local 40 located in Elizabethtown, KY; and served as the vice president for several years. He is a former deputy serving the Breckinridge County Sheriffs Office. Alongside his work, he was a member of Webster United Methodist Church and was an inactive member of the Hardinsburg Masonic Lodge. He had a passion for motorcycles and race cars. Jeffrey found happiness anywhere there was the sound of a roaring engine. His pastime hobbies brought him peace, excitement, and countless moments shared with those he loved. 

He is survived by his children, Jennifer (Jeffrey) Ford, Scotty Dowell (Laura), Davy Dowell; sisters, Patricia Seeyle, and Karen Couch; grandchildren, Lilian Ford, Ethan Ford, Jaxon Dowell, Alex Dowell (Penelope), Caleb Mattingly, Braydon Dowell, Darrian Dowell, Gavin (Nadia) Dowell, Emma Grace Dowell, and Natalyn Roth; Great-grandchildren, Griffin, Kaden, Coraline, and Delilah.    

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at Alexander Funeral Home from 12:00 P.M. CDT to 5:00 P.M. CDT or 1:00 P.M. EDT to 6:00 P.M. EDT.

Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home on Sunday, August 2, 2026, beginning at 5:00 P.M. CDT or 6:00 P.M. EDT, with Bro. Josh Pack officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
